The old saying goes, “Divorce is expensive … but it’s worth it!”
Let’s hope that turns out to be the case for a woman in New Braunfels, Texas. As of today, her divorce has been in the works for more than a year and a half. This week the San Antonio Express News published a story putting Mrs. Weston’s attorney count at 29 … and an expense (so far) of $4 million.
“My husband, Graham Weston, is not bankrupt, nor should I be,” Elizabeth Weston said in her statement.
You can read the entire story here.
Graham Weston is widely known in San Antonio for his involvement with Rackspace, Geekdom, and the 80/20 Foundation. His company, Weston Urban, is working on a handful of projects and recently completed the new Frost Bank headquarters in downtown San Antonio. He is a popular speaker at various civic and social gatherings … I once heard him opine on his love for Costco. I found that affection particularly interesting since his Rackspace was (and probably still is) known for top-tier customer service. In my opinion, Costco could take a few lessons on that topic!
San Antonio Woman magazine asked Graham how he got interested in the revitalization of San Antonio and you can read the full interview here. While I have no knowledge of the pending divorce proceedings (other than what I read in the news), I can’t help but wish some of that $4 million could have gone to benefit San Antonians.
